Our Story

 

Restaurant

Citronelle is a New American restaurant and bar drawing influences from France, Spain, Greece, and Italy. The restaurant aspires to provide Syracuse with a space that has the ambiance and energy of a NYC restaurant without the exclusivity. The main dining room is enclosed by a glass atrium more than two stories tall and illuminates a 60-foot white marble bar. Large print paintings punctuate the dining space, which is outfitted with hammered copper tables and seating made at Syracuse's own Arts and Crafts gem Stickley Furniture. We hope our menu invites you to share and experience your plates together—slowing down, enjoying, and discussing the flavor in each bite and sip. 

The restaurant's name means lemongrass in French (citronnelle), pointing to its Mediterranean inspirations but also to the pedigree behind the venture. Max and Pook Chutinthranond—owners, chefs, and longtime Syracuse residents—are proud to open, with their team, this third restaurant in Armory Square, a fun new sibling to mainstays Lemon Grass and Bistro Elephant.

Beyond our restaurant is an ample and fully equipped event space. Host any occasion from a private dinner with your family to a wedding reception with over 300 guests. Citronelle sets itself apart from other special events locations by offering highly customizable menus and party configurations alongside the professionalism in service for which Lemon Grass and Bistro Elephant are known.
